Quality of Care
SHS Medical and Dental Services are accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, and are committed to meeting the highest and most current health standards. Services are provided by experienced physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and other health care professionals. An active quality improvement committee combined with involvement with the American College Health Association keeps the staff current in health care issues facing college students.
Confidentiality
A secure, paperless, electronic medical record is kept on all patients. Medical records
and patient health information are confidential as described in our privacy policy.
Parents, spouses, professors, and university officials only have access with the patient’s
consent or in the very limited circumstances outlined in our privacy policy.
SHS saves legacy paper records for 7 years after the date of your last visit. Electronic
records will not be destroyed.
Patient Privacy Policy (Amended August 23, 2017)
Student patients at SHS-Medical Services have specific rights and responsibilities.
You can find documents detailing those rights and responsibilities posted through out the clinic and on the Patient Rights and Responsibilities webpage.
