NATIONAL GAY AND LESBIAN TASK FORCE
The mission of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force is to build the grassroots power of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. We do this by training activists, equipping state and local organizations with the skills needed to organize broad-based campaigns to defeat anti-LGBT referenda and advance pro-LGBT legislation, and building the organizational capacity of our movement. Our Policy Institute, the movement’s premier think tank, provides research and policy analysis to support the struggle for complete equality and to counter right-wing lies. As part of a broader social justice movement, we work to create a nation that respects the diversity of human expression and identity and creates opportunity for all.

GLBT NATIONAL HELP CENTER
The GLBT National Help Center provides free and confidential support for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) people, and those with questions about sexual orientation and/or gender identity. We provide support through our two national, toll-free hotlines as well as through our Online Peer-Support Chat program, which allows private, one-on-one instant messaging (IM) with a trained peer-counselor, directly on our website. We provide factual information about GLBT issues, safer-sex info, local resources for cities and towns across the country and peer-counseling for people going through a difficult time. All of our volunteer peer-counselors are either gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.

NATIONAL COALITION FOR LGBT HEALTH
The National Coalition for LGBT Health is committed to improving the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals and communities through public education, coalition building and advocacy that focus on research, policy, education and training.

Members are dedicated to the concept that our ability to effect change will be determined by our bringing together the rich diversity of the LGBT community at a national level — across gender/gender identity, race/ethnicity, disability, education, income, age and geography.

THE POINT FOUNDATION – NATIONAL LGBT SCHOLARSHIP FUND

ADVOCATES FOR YOUTH
Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (GLBTQ) youth face tremendous difficulties growing up in a society where heterosexuality is often presented as the only acceptable orientation, and homosexuality is regarded as deviant. Research suggests that homophobia and heterosexism greatly contribute to higher rates of suicide, violence victimization, risk behavior for HIV infection, and substance abuse among GLBTQ youth as compared to their heterosexual peers. In recent years, however, a number of promising programs have been established to help GLBTQ youth gain the skills and support they need to develop into healthy adults in a society that largely rejects them.

Advocates for Youth has also developed a program to help decrease the isolation felt by many GLBTQ youth. Using the Internet as an intervention strategy, Advocates has established several Web sites targeting young people with information, support, and referrals regarding adolescent sexual and reproductive health.
