I grew up in Ohio and left for the U.S. Army at 17. After serving in the U.S. Army, I moved across the United States to Montana to begin my educational career. I am a senior majoring in Fish and Wildlife Ecology, and minoring in Statistics; where I conduct research with Dr. Christopher Guy within the Montana Cooperative Fishery Research Unit where we are investigating the gill raker morphology of kokanee salmon in Georgetown Lake, Montana. In addition to my research, I am a fisheries research technician for a master's student investigating the trophic relationship among salmonid species in Georgetown Lake. I aspire to continue my education in a master's program, publish a memoir, and become a published author in my field of research too. In my free time, I enjoy trail running, fly fishing, and trying out new hobbies.... as long as it takes me to the outdoors!

Hello! I am a USMC veteran and Environmental Biology major currently studying the
effects of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy in the veteran population alongside Annie
Matney, LCPC at Sub Rosa Therapy. Originally, I’m from Austin, TX but have lived all
over the country. After attaining my bachelor’s degree, I plan to attend graduate
school in pursuit of a Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience at a university that is innovating
the field of psychedelic-assisted therapy. Being accepted into the McNair Scholars
Program has provided me with an opportunity that I hadn’t previously thought possible,
namely the opportunity to attend graduate school.

I grew up on the West Coast, but now call Bozeman my home. I am a senior majoring in Community Health, and minoring in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I conduct research with Dr. Laura Larsson at the Mark & Robyn Jones College of Nursing on improving attitudes towards the use of silver diamine fluoride in pediatric oral health care in rural and tribal communities. I also work with Dr. Miranda Margetts at the Center for American Indian and Rural Health Equity where we research the experiences and available education for those diagnosed with Müllerian Anomalies (complex uterine anomalies) in Montana. In addition to my research, I intern at the Montana Office of Rural Health/Area Health Education Center, where I assist with community health needs assessments, and create health promotion graphics. I anticipate earning a Joint Master’s of Public Administration/Master’s of Public Health, and then a Ph.D. in Public Health.
