Inclusive Practices Workshops

In spring 2022, we held a week-long series of online sessions to learn about how faculty and staff at MSU are changing the culture through their inclusive practices in advising, teaching, mentoring, podcasting, writing workshops and more. The recordings of these presentations are available on the CFE website. A total of 79 individuals participated in the sessions.

New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation was held August 10 and 11, 2021 in Inspiration Hall in the Norm Asbjornson Hall and online and January 7, 2022. 75 attended total (28 tenure-track, 25 non-tenure track).

Collaborations

The Center has continued its many collaborations and added new partnerships focused on faculty excellence. A few collaborations are highlighted here:

KEEN Program – CFE partnered with Engineering on the “Leveraging Mindset to Improve Teaching, Research, and Learning” workshop this spring. Innovating Curriculum With Entrepreneurial Mindset (ICE) introduces faculty to the framework of entrepreneurially minded learning (EML) centered on curiosity, connections, and creating value. X faculty attended the three-day workshop.

Nursing – CFE partnered with the Mark & Robyn Jones College of Nursing to provide evidence-based teaching and learning resources in support of the new BSN curricula. The collaboration included presentations to 60+ faculty from Director Dean Adams and instructional designer Dr. Shihua Brazill. Dr. Brazill helped with the development of nursing specific course mapping templates, joint consultation with ATO on D2L course design templates, and created individual instructional design resources focused on Universal Design for Learning in Higher Education.
