How do I find a job on through Bobcat Student Employment?

There are many on-campus jobs available, such as working in Residence Halls, Sports Facilities, Culinary Services, Event Services, the Bookstore, Research Opportunities and more. Additionally, we have several community partners in a variety of industries and sectors.

How to apply:

3. Click the student bucket, select "student"
4. Complete the Bobcat Student Employment Inquiry Request Form

How much will I be paid?

Wages vary by job and are paid every other week. Most employers pay $14-$17 per hour, but there is always room for growth. Some jobs, like Grounds or Culinary Services, pay $15-$17 per hour to start.

How many hours do I work per week?

For on-campus jobs, you can work between 6-19 hours per week. For off-campus employment, there is no stipulation on the number of hours worked per week.

How is Bobcat Student Employment different from work study?

Work study is a government-funded program offered to eligible students with demonstrated financial need. The money earned helps with educational expenses and is usually awarded as part of a financial aid package. Bobcat Student Employment is partnered with many departments that offer work study.

How formal are interviews with employers? Do I need my resume?

What would my work hours look like? Can I have more than one job on campus?

Full-time and part-time students may work up to 20 hours per week on campus. You may work up to 40 hours per week on campus during school breaks. You may work up to your maximum hours a week, so you can combine work schedules from different positions to get up to your maximum number of hours. For off-campus employment, there is no stipulation on the number of hours worked per week.

Do I have to work over break?

For on-campus jobs, working over break is not mandatory, though full-time students can work up to 40 hours per week during break periods.

Is it okay to take time off?

Yes! Prioritize your well-being, whether that's academic or personal. Talk to your employer in advance if you need time off.
