Who will be able to use the Student Wellness Center?
All MSU students who pay recreation and student health fees will be able to use the new and improved facility and services. Memberships will also be available for purchase for MSU faculty and staff through Campus Recreation.
When will the facility open?
The Student Wellness Center is expected to open this August 2024, followed by a Grand Opening celebration on August 19, at 3 p.m., in the Student Wellness Center Commons.
What is the plan for the pool?
The pool is one of the features that received widespread support during the planning phase of the Student Wellness Center. The new building will include an updated aquatics facility.
What is the plan for the former Fitness Center?
The Student Wellness Center incorporates the prior, existing fitness center. A focus during the design process was on heating, ventilation and air-conditioning to improve air quality and temperature control.
Is there a student fee associated with this project?
Approved by the Board of Regents in May 2020, the existing Student Facilities Enhancement Project (SFEP) fee increased by $58 per semester for students taking 12 or more credits.
