Frequently Asked Questions

The Drug Free Schools and Communities Act and Title IX require education on alcohol and other drugs and sexual assault prevention for all members of our campus community.

Additionally, as of October 15th, 2014 the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education has mandated all new, incoming students to Montana State University (regardless of age) are required to complete an authorized program in alcohol education, sexual assault awareness and prevention, and financial literacy. Participation in this program is not an elective; if the modules are not completed in the time allotted, a hold will be placed on your ability to register for the following term.

If you have completed these courses previously, you will need to provide proof of completion to preventionedu@montana.edu. You will not be required to take them again.

First log into Vector LMS. Your certificates should be visible. If not, please email preventionedu@montana.edu. Provide full name and last four digits of student ID number (GID).

You will receive a hold on your account which will prevent you for registering for the upcoming semester. When you complete Vector LMS in full, your registration hold will automatically lift.
Following completion of Vector LMS, you will recieve a certificate of completion that can be accessed through your Vector LMS portal. Download this certificate for your records.
