Overview

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Louis Stokes Bridge to the Doctorate program supports the recruitment and retention of minority graduate students studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Eligible students must

  • Be a US citizen
  • Identify as American Indian or Alaska Native
  • Have participated as an undergraduate in an LSAMP program
  • Be starting a PhD program in STEM

Benefits include

  • Stipend of $32k/year for two years
  • Education allowance of $12k/year for two years
  • Participation in monthly community dinners with fellow Indigenous graduate students in STEM
