Crazy Mountain Stockgrowers Scholarship
2022 Stockgrowers Scholarship Application
The Crazy Mountain Stockgrowers Association is working to preserve our agricultural way of life. In that, we strongly support youth and education that will continue to grow future leaders in the ranching community. The Crazy Mountain Stockgrowers will offer up to $5,000 in college scholarships to Sweet Grass County students this year. Applicants may be 2020 SGHS graduates, or past graduates currently enrolled in college. This money may be distributed to up to three (3) individuals, or awarded to one or two very worthy candidates.
Candidates are required to submit a typed application by April1. The typed applications will be graded blind (without judges knowing the students’ names). The top three to five scholarship candidates will be brought in for an interview to determine the scholarship award levels. Interviews will be conducted the last week in April. Applicants will be notified by April 19 if they are being scheduled for an interview.
The scholarship process will be evaluated in five categories of varying importance. A full grading rubric is available in this application packet. The most impressive applicants (therefore eligible for greater scholarship reward) will demonstrate the following in their application and in the personal interview process:
- Future potential positive impact on the agriculture industry & rural communities Strong community involvement, volunteering & leadership
- Current agricultural involvement, interest and leadership Clearly established educational and career goals
- Satisfactory academic achievement and demonstrated financial need
PLEASE TYPE YOUR APPLICATION. AN ELECTRONIC FORM IS AVAILABLE ON THE SCHOLARSHIP PAGE.
This portion of the application will be removed by the scholarship committee before the rest of the application is submitted for judging. The written application will be judged blind (without knowing who the applicant is), so please do not write your name or family name anywhere else on the application.
