EdReady Initial Math Placement - For students eligible to take the Initial Math Placement please plan to complete your requirements prior to your scheduled Orientation session. Study Paths available at the completion of the Initial Math Placement are accessible throughout the summer (if student is participating in Orientation for Fall semester) or throughout the winter break (if student is participating in Orientation for Spring semester).
Students spend around an hour on the Initial Math Placement, but don’t worry if it takes you a little more or less time than that. After the Initial Math Placement generates a study path for you, we recommend you set aside 2 different times each week to spend an hour or so in the program. Consistently working on your study path will help you reach your goal, whether that is placing up a level by achieving your target score, or keeping your math knowledge fresh before your math class starts.
Students without a math placement who complete their Initial Math Placement should plan to continue in their EdReady Study Paths. The EdReady Study Paths provide students with the opportunity to continue learning and reviewing their math skills prior to their first math class at MSU or Gallatin College. Students who successfully complete their Study Path may be eligible to improve their math placement by one level. Students should review their Initial Math Placement score and Study Path goals with their advisor.
EdReady Initial Math Placement - Eligible students will receive directions from the Office of Admissions. If you have questions about your eligibility for the Initial Math Placement please send an email to edready@montana.edu.
