Triota National Honors Society
Triota Certificate Ceremony, Fall 2018
Triota (Iota Iota Iota) is the national honors society for women's, gender, and sexuality studies. At Montana State University, the honor society recognizes students who demonstrate high academic achievement in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Founded at the Metropolitan State College of Denver in 1992, MSU's chapter was begun in 2011. The Greek letter, iota, represents the three goddesses Inana, Ishtar, and Isis.
Purpose
The purpose of this organization is to provide an environment of academic excellence, encourage undergraduate research and scholarship in Women's and Gender Studies, foster relationships among WGS students and faculty, increase interest and awareness of gender issues, and promote community engagement and social change by facilitating student activism. As a relatively new group on campus we want to reach out to more students and work on involvement within the community!
