  1. Call to Order
    President Waded Cruzado

  2. Approval of Minutes from September 7, 2022


    Minutes moved to approve by Chris Fastnow; seconded by Ryan Knutson, and the minutes were approved unanimously.

  3. University Wide Information/Announcements


    President Cruzado shared last weekend we had the most successful parent-family weekend.  Career Fair is happening now, and it is Homecoming week.  The Student Memorial Ribbon Cutting takes place today, an initiative led by ASMSU.  It is an exciting time on campus.

  5. Old Items

    A. International Travel Policy Revision
        Kristof Zaba, Dean, Office of International Programs

    Dr. Zaba shared minor feedback and comments were offered and implemented. This process really benefits our campus community.  The policy was approved unanimously. 


    B. Real Estate & Leasing Policy Revision
        Aurora Dreyer, Real Estate Manager, Campus Planning, Design & Construction

    Aurora thanked University Council for their support of this revision and the policy was approved unanimously.

  6. New Items

    A.  Research misconduct Section 800 Policy Revision
         Kirk Lubick, Director of Research Compliance; Camie Bechtold, Chief Compliance Officer

    Kirk and Camie briefed team on the proposed revisions to the research misconduct section 800. Revisions are meant to clarify who is responsible for sanctioning students and employees for research misconduct. Please provide feedback in the next 30 days. 

    B. Workplace Expectations and Conduct: Reasonable Accomodations for Employees & Appplicants with                 Disabilities Policy Revision
         Jennifer Glad, Associate Legal Counsel

    Jennifer shared proposed revisions to the workplace expectations and conduct policy regarding reasonable accommodations for employees and applicants with disabilities addresses the appeal process for when an employee or applicant with disabilities disagrees with the accommodation process or a decision regarding disability accommodations.

  7. Informational Items

    A. 2022 Dyslexia & Innovation Symposium
       Sarah Pennington, Co-Chair,Dyslexia & Innovation Symposium with nationally renowned keynote                     speakers, group panel discussions and workshop sessions.

    Dr. Pennington shared on Oct. 27-28 MSU will host a virtual DXI Symposium of Changemakers. Everyone is welcome to register and attend. 

    B. Expeditions MSU 2022 Program
        Amber Long, Associate Vice President for Student Wellness; Dan Sandberg, Assistant Director, Outdoor            Recreation; Callie Lajza, Coordinator of Expeditions, First Year   Experience, Outdoor Recreation

    Wonderful presentation on outreach opportunities for students to connect with nature and form human to human connections. This program is increasing retention efforts amongst our students. Many thoughtful inquiries how colleges can connect with their programming going forward.

    C. Choosing Promise: Goal 1.1, Student Access & Success
         Chris Fastnow, Director, Office of Planning and Analysis

    Chris presented an update on Goal 1.1. of MSU’s strategic plan, “Choosing Promise.” The goal is to broaden access for underrepresented populations and increase academic success for all students through excellence in undergraduate education.  Metrics and more details can be found here:  https://www.montana.edu/strategicplan/transformationallearning.html.

  9. Updates

    Provost Mokwa shared MSU is hosting a very successful Career Fair in the SUB this week.
