- Call to Order
President Waded Cruzado - Approval of Minutes from August 11, 2021
Royce Smith moved to approve minutes; seconded by Chris Kearns. Minutes were approved unanimously.
- University Wide Information/Announcements
President Cruzado shared excitement of the Mark and Robyn Jones investment of $101 million to the College of Nursing on August 30, 2021.

A. Revisions to Space Management Policy, Principles, and Research Guidelines
Kellie Peterson, Legal Counsel; Richard Rudnicki, Planning Manager, Campus Planning Design & ConstructionNorris Blossom moved to table vote, so ASMSU may review more closely; Terry Leist seconded. Motion to table the vote was approved unanimously.
B. University Contract Approval and Execution Proposed Policy
Jennifer Glad, Associate Legal CounselTerry Leist moved to table the vote; Bett Gunnink seconded motion to table vote. Motion to table the vote was approved unanimously.
VI. New ItemA. Research Misconduct Policy Revision
The proposed updates to the research misconduct policy, last updated in 2012, would create more transparency and ensure compliance with federal regulations. Proposed updates include additional definitions, a timeline, details about the inquiry process, the appointment of an advisory committee to assist with a research misconduct investigation, and details about appeals.

VII. Informational Items
A. Long Range Building Program (LRBP) Process
John How, Associate Vice President, University ServicesMadison Graff shared as part of the state's biennial Long-Range Building Program, each campus in the Montana University System prepares project lists for funding consideration during the Montana Legislature. Recent MSU successes with the Long-Range Building Program include funding for renovating Romney Hall and repairing the Lewis Hall roof. Madison reviewed the process, including the steps leading to the next Legislature in 2023, and recapped projects funded during the 2021 legislative session.
B. Choosing Promise: Goal: 2.4: Elevating Research Expectations

& Goal 2.4: Elevate expectations for scholarship:
Montana State University faculty, staff, and students hold themselves to the highest standards of research and creative outcomes.
METRICS and ACTIONS:
- Colleges, departments, and centers will set goals and document progress in their annual research reports by 2020.
- Montana State University will have annual contract and grant expenditures exceeding $200 million spanning all units by 2024.
- Publications, presentations of creative works, translational research and creative activity, and other evidence of dissemination of scholarship will meet or exceed peer benchmarks by 2024.
- Montana State University will increase the number of research faculty, research staff, post-docs and graduate students funded on external contracts and grants by 2022.
