I. Call to Order
Provost Bob Mokwa
Provost Mokwa called the meeting to order at 8:32 AM.
II. Approval of Minutes for February 6, 2019
Provost Mokwa called for an approval of the minutes. Chris Fastnow made a motion to approve; James Joyce seconded and minutes were approved unanimously.
III. University Wide Information/Announcements
Provost Mokwa shared that the March Board of Regents meeting starts tomorrow at Helena College. We have a few academic programs on the agenda.

V. Informational Items
A. Know Your MSU: 11th & Grant, MontanaPBS
Aaron Pruitt, General Manager, MontanaPBS
Aaron Pruitt shared information about the highly-regarded music program, 11th & Grant, which is filmed at the MontanaPBS studios at Montana State University. The show is hosted by musician Eric Funk and is filmed during one week in July.
Detail is everything for this show, including the lighting, shadowing, make-up, close-ups and the rapport with the musicians.
The key production personnel include Erick Funk, Scott Sterling, Gomez Routhier, and Jeremiah Slovarp.
In addition, 11th & Grant employs student crews. For underwriting, there is a $80,000 cash budget for season 13. Donors include the Gilhousen Family Foundation, Greater Montana Foundation, MSU President’s Office, over 30 businesses and individuals.
11th & Grant has won nine regional EMMY awards.
Aaron showed a video of the show, which the Council enjoyed.
The opportunity for questions was presented to Aaron and Chris Fastnow highlighted the great alignment that 11th & Grant has with MSU’s strategic plan, Choosing Promise. In addition, Dean Adams thanked Aaron and MontanaPBS for their great collaborations with campus. Aaron shared that there is a pledge drive for MontanaPBS this week.
VI. Updates
Given the Legislative Session, Provost Mokwa provided Tracy Ellig an opportunity to give an update on where MSU’s priorities stand in the Session.
Professional Council is hosting a professional development on the definition of success on Thursday, March 14th from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM.
The first Strategic Plan alignment session is this afternoon, hosted by Chris Fastnow. She has more information if your division is necessary.
Emily Stark shared that Mandatory Reporter training is taking place throughout the year and OIE is working to have everyone who is .5 FTE or higher takes it this year.
Intelligent Lives is screening this week for EHHD.
The Big Sky Conference tournament is next week in Boise.
Brett Gunnink shared information about the lecture being hosted by President’s Commission on the Status of University Women on March 7th. Dr. Anna Kirkland will be speaking.
Dean Adams shared that the College of the Arts & Architecture is hosting quite a few exhibitions this month. Dean Royce Smith is feeling better in Bozeman and receiving his second round of treatments.
Matt Caires shared information about students preparing to “Move Out” in May, which includes webinars for students and their families. After Spring Break, there will be an off-campus housing resource fair in the SUB to teach students about next steps after they move off-campus.
Terry Leist shared kudos to Dan Stevenson and EJ Hook’s team for snow removal this month.
Bob Mokwa asked for a moment of silence for the passing of faculty member, Simon Dixon.
In addition, he wanted to share that on March 26th there will be a Diversity Showcase from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM being planned by Ariel Donohue, Senior Diversity Officer.
Kellie Peterson shared that Blake Christensen and his wife has their baby, Soren Erik Christensen on Friday, March 1st.
Dan Stevenson reminded the group to keep windows closed given the cold weather.
