- Call to Order
President Waded Cruzado- President Waded Cruzado called University Council to order at 8:30 AM.
- Approval of Minutes for August 9th, 2017
- Chris Fastnow motioned to approve minutes; Chris Kearns seconded the motion and minutes passed unanimously.
- University Wide Information/ Announcements
- President Cruzado thanked everyone in the room for their hard work at the start of the academic year, from Move-In Day, to the First Meal and MSU Debut, we brought a sense of community for all. She introduced new University Council members Abbie Richards, James Joyce and new financial aid director, James Broscheit.

- Update to Enterprise Data Stewardship Policy
Jerry Sheehan, Vice President for Information Technology
Kellie Peterson, Legal Counsel- Jerry Sheehan and Kellie Peterson worked with Data Governance Council to revise this policy to update the responsible delegates. This is the first reading of the policy and will be posted for 30 days of review.

- Mountains and Minds: Learners and Leaders: 2018-2019 Priority Objectives
Chris Fastnow, Director, Office of Planning & Analysis- Chris Fastnow briefed group on Planning Council priorities, NWCCU site visit, and
discussed the five priorities this year.
- Learning 2. Increasing graduation rates at MSU.
- Discovery 3. Expand the scale, breadth and quality of doctoral education.
- Integration 2. Increase work across disciplines.
- Access 2. Diversity the student body.
- Stewardship 1: Human Resources. Attract, develop and retain the faculty and staff to achieve our MSU mission.
- President Cruzado emphasized the importance of the upcoming accreditation visit and ensuring that we have all the information available for necessary preparations.

- Milestones in Service on October 23 from 3pm-5pm in the SUB Ballrooms
- Gold Rush on Saturday, Sept. 9th
- First time (new) doctoral enrollments are up by 14% when compared to fall 2016 this time last year.
- Total f 2017 doctoral enrollments as of today (9/6/17): 589.
- Total enrollments (all) as of today (9/6/17): 1953 but this may change by the 15th class day.
NOTE: The next University Council meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4th, 2017.
