Monica Skewes Research Office Space: Health Sciences Building 167
Description of Request
Submitted By: Monica Skewes, Psychology, CAIRHE
Monica Skewes has hired a full-time research coordinator (start date November 11th)
to help execute her new National Institutes of Health (NIH) project. This project
is 5-year renewable grant, and is classified as R01. Space is needed for this staff
member to carry out confidential conversations with Fort Peck research team members
and study participants. Eligibility screening will be conducted via phone or Zoom
calls to assess whether prospective participants meet criteria for substance use disorder.
They also will participate in private discussions with the reservation-based intervention
facilitators to ensure that the intervention is delivered with fidelity, to provide
feedback on their performance, and to troubleshoot issues that arise. The project
will need space to secure private documents, study materials, and intervention supplies.
Currently, there is no space available in the Psychology department for these activities.
Staff proposes allocating the vacant office, HSB 167, and two adjacent open cubicle
spaces to Monica Skewes research project so that she may accommodate staff (full time
research coordinator, student worker, part-time staff member) and supplies. Alex Adams,
director of CAIRHE, is in support of this request for space in the Health Sciences
Building.
Resolution
