Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness near Aspen, Colorado

Summits of Colorado Fourteeners:  Maroon Peak (14,156'), Snowmass Mountain (14,092'), and North Maroon Peak (14,014')

This wonderful back country tour starts and ends at the Maroon Lake trailhead. We hiked in the clockwise direction, crossing West Maroon Pass, Frigid Air Pass, Trail Rider Pass, and Buckskin Pass in a large loop. I climbed three fourteeners along the way: Maroon Peak (solo) on July 31, Snowmass Mountain (solo) on August 2, and North Maroon Peak (with Jeff Barish and Larry Borish) on August 4.
