Interests:
Chris Pavlovich is an educator committed to advancing place-based, interdisciplinary pedagogies and is currently the Director of Program Services and Evaluation at Ripple: The Center for Education and Ecosystem Studies. Before Ripple, Chris served as a 5th grade teacher for 14 years in Livingston, Montana. While teaching, Chris founded Watershed Warriors, a place-based, interdisciplinary watershed education program based on a mission of stewardship, application, and access. Her goal in science education is to engage teachers and students in place-based, project-based pedagogies to decrease the borders between science, classrooms, and communities. Chris's is dedicated to professional development and sees teachers as top-tier professionals of the world. Through district trainings, regional workshops, and online courses, she has reached over 375 teachers and approximately 18,000 students, providing guidance in science, writing, math, and Indian Education For All. Especially when in front of a computer, she has found that almost everything in life is better with a dog by her side.
