  • The Gallatin Legal Assistance Clinic (GLAC) is an independent program organized by a group of Gallatin County volunteer legal professionals. GLAC provides free legal assistance to people with limited income who are representing themselves in family law legal matters.

  • The Montana Legal Services Association provides free legal advice, legal information and other civil legal services to low-income Montanans in need. Services include a variety of different issues including housing, food, income, safety, education or healthcare.

  • SNAP provides supplemental food and nutrition assistance to low income people and families.

FCC Lifeline and Emergency Broadband Benefit Programs 

  • Lifeline: The FCC Lifeline program was implemented in 1985 to provide discounted phone services for qualifying consumers. Currently the program can provide qualifiers a discount up to $9.25 a month off their bill. Additionally, if a consumer lives on a qualifying tribal land or qualifies for a tribal-specific program, they are eligible for a discount up to $34.25 a month.
  • Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBBP): Meanwhile, the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program was implemented on May 12, 2021, due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The EBB program provides a temporary discount up to $50 a month for non-tribal consumers and up to $75 a month for consumers that live on qualifying tribal lands and/or meet eligibility requirements for tribal-specific programs.

Center for Children, Families and Workforce Development – Missoula

  • The Center works to improve the lives of children, youth and families in Montana with a special focus on families involved in the child welfare system. They provide statewide training in the form of online modules, in person training, e-learning courses, videos, podcasts and factsheets to parents and families.

  • Waterford Upstart is a national educational nonprofit that offers online educational programs and high quality educational resources for children, families, communities and partners that seeks to blend the best aspects of learning science, mentoring relationships and innovative technologies

Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarship

  • The early Childhood Services Bureau offers Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarships to qualified low income families including kinship families. Scholarships are available to working families whose income is at or below 150% of the federal poverty guidelines and families who receive cash assistance through the TANF program.
