• The primary purpose of a 4-H Ambassador is to strengthen the 4-H program through public relations. A 4-H ambassador must conduct himself or herself with integrity in a mature manner that sets a good example by which other 4-H members may follow.
• The Lewis & Clark County Ambassador Program consists of a team of up to eight Ambassadors. Any current 4-H member 13 years old or older who wishes to enhance their leadership skills through, fun, hard work, and involvement in the Lewis & Clark County 4-H Program is welcome to apply.

• The primary purpose of a 4-H Junior Superintendent is to work with adult county project superintendents in planning events, workshops, and other learning activities.
• The Junior Superintendent has a vote during committee meetings and is the youth voice for individual projects.
• Junior Superintendents are teen leaders in their project area, and are required to uphold the standards as such.
• Any current 4-H member 13 years old or older who wishes to take a more active part in their 4-H project area can approach the adult project superintendent and inquire about availability. The junior superintendent is then voted in at October, November, and December meetings.
• Each project can have up to 5 junior superintendents.

• PURPOSE

To prepare an appealing, nutritious dish that can be prepared easily by using common ingredients available in many homes. Meal should be prepared using food safety techniques and reflect creative use of ingredients. The presentation should exhibit knowledge of the foods prepared, excellent public speaking and use of visual aid skills.

• THEME

Each year the stir ups contest will have a recipe theme. Recipes range from the simplest to more complicated combinations of ingredients which showcase healthy nutritious meals with the advantage of ease of preparation. Creativity is the key to unique presentation– there is no reason to stick to traditional ingredients.

• PARTICIPANTS

Individuals or teams of two. Team members should divide work and interview responses equally. An uneven distribution of work will impact the evaluation. Both individuals and teams will receive one score per judge.

• TIME

Meal preparation and cleanup: 60 minutes

Presentation: 15 minutes

One point/per minute will be deducted from total score for going over 60 minutes preparation time.

• Communication day has long been a part of 4-H. It is competitive in nature, yet it is also intended to be an educational event for all those involved. The event is open to public spectators, and all 4-H members, parents and leaders are encouraged to attend even though they may not have someone directly involved.

• A Sewing Revue has been held by the Lewis and Clark County 4-H program since the 1980’s. The Sewing Revue at both county and state level (Congress) is an educational component of the 4-H Clothing program. It emphasizes development in selecting, constructing, accessorizing and showing an item the member has sewn.
• You do not need to be in the sewing, handiwork or quilting project to participate

The 2024 4-H Photo Show will be on exhibit fromMay 16th – June 2nd at the Holter Museum of Art. Photos need to be delivered to the Holter on May 13th, 2024. For more details click here.

The main purpose of the camp is to provide an educational and fun learning experience for the members in attendance and also to provide leadership activities for the junior members and adults who are responsible for putting on the event. 

• Open to 4-H members age 8-13 years (as of October 1, 2023) and not enrolled as a Cloverbud
• Camper fee for the day camp is $200 and payment can be made out to Lewis & Clark County 4-H Council
• Fees include: transportation, accommodations, meals, activity supplies, and a T-shirt

Fall Training is the annual leadership development retreat for Montana 4-H Ambassadors and Teen Leaders. The event is planned, implemented, and evaluated by the State Ambassador Officer Team. Youth will leave the weekend prepared and excited to take the knowledge and skills they have gained and apply them in their counties.

This event is a 4-H member favorite: It provides an opportunity for youth and adults to enhance their leadership, communication, and team building skills in an action-packed and interactive setting.

Rec Lab programming provides participants with tips and tricks for being a better club, camp, and community leader.

This event is ideal for younger senior members to attend as a first-time state event. It allows them to form relationships with 4-H peers from across the state, broaden their skills, and widen their network.

Montana 4-H Congress provides youth from across the state an opportunity to come together on the Montana State University campus in Bozeman for four days and participate in an event like no other. Congress offers both youth and adults a venue in which to learn, be challenged, and most of all, have a great time with their peers. Its purpose is to provide a safe and fun environment for youth to experience all that 4-H has to offer - contests, workshops, social events, and more.

• This is event is for 13 and older youth members
• Chaperones must be 21 or older and be a certified 4-H Volunteer. If you are interested in being a chaperone please fill out this google form
