Visual Arts Project
Project Description
Youth will enjoy many artistic experiences and develop skills for a lifetime through activities focusing on elements and principles of art.
There are 2 options to complete this project
- If a member chooses to attend workshops, the member must attend 4 workshops and complete 3 project goals. The member must also complete 3 project goals that are created by the member at the beginning of the 4-H year. These are the goals in the Visual Art record book pages.
- If a member chooses to complete this project on their own, they will need to purchase the appropriate book.
~~Getting Started in Art is the 1st year book. The member must complete a minimum of 4 activities a year for up to 3 years. It can be completed in less time if the member choses. The member must also complete 3 project goals that are created by the member at the beginning of the 4-H year. These are the goals in the Visual Art record book pages
~~Portfolio Pathways & Sketchbook Crossroads are the next Visual Arts project books. These books can be completed in any order. They focus more on teaching different mediums to the project member. The member will need to complete a minimum of 6 activities from either book a year for up to 3 years. Each book can be completed in less time if the member chooses to. The member must also complete 3 project goals that are created by the member at the beginning of the 4-H year. These are the goals in the Visual Art record book pages
Independent study is another option for senior project members who have completed the books or want to pursue a noncovered medium or to focus on a particular art area. Please contact the Visual Art Superintendent to discuss how to proceed with this option.
