Sport Fishing Project
Project Description
Sport Fishing is a project made for Montana. After all, a river runs through it! You will learn how to make your own fishing tackle, experience the world of aquatic ecology, and explore the relationship between fish, people, and the environment. You'll also learn about casting methods, how to decide on the proper tackle, and much more.

*** Please note, if you do not attend at least one workshop in your project area during the 4-H year, you will be required to complete activities in your project book and turn it in with your record book. The number of activities required to complete a 4-H year in each project book can be found here.
What needs to be accomplished to move on to level 2?
- Participate in 9 learning activities each year over at least TWO years & record in project pages for review
What needs to be accomplished to move on to level 3?
- Participate in 9 learning activities each year over at least TWO years & record in project pages for review
- Do a presentation on some aspect of the Sport Fishing project and record in project pages
- Should be able to do basic fishing knots and ready fishing gear with minimal leader assistance
- Should be able to assist other project members
Project age limit? 8 and up
Due Dates: Project members must be officially enrolled in the Sport Fishing project in order to participate in workshops on or near the water (beginning sometime in May)
