Welcome

Welcome to the first Montana 4-H Volunteer Newsletter.  The goal of the newsletter is to provide information from the 4-H Center, helpful insights, volunteer resources, and recognize the impact volunteers make for the youth  of Montana 4-H. We appreciate all the volunteers across Montana and their time, so we will keep the newsletter short and will publish once quarterly (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter).

Volunteer Orientation 

New for the 2022-2023 4-H year Montana 4-H is requiring all volunteers to complete a online volunteer orientation. The orientation will cover topics from Positive Youth Development, Risk Management, Policy and Procedure, Impacts of 4-H and Basic information about the 4-H Program. Complete the training by November 30th and be entered in a drawing for one of six $50 gift cards or donation to a club/project of your choice, provided by the Montana Leaders Council. Montana 4-H Volunteer Institute 

Join volunteers across Montana, February 17-19, 2023 for a weekend of learning, networking, and recognizing the impact volunteers have on 4-H. The Institute will be held in Billings at the Double Tree Hotel. Registration and more information to come. 

We would like to give volunteers the opportunity to teach and share their knowledge by leading a workshop. Please click here to submit your workshop idea. 

Montana Leaders Council

As a Montana 4-H Volunteer you are part of the Montana Leaders Council. The Council has worked hard to re-write their bylaws to better serve the volunteers in Montana 4-H. The Council's focus will be supporting volunteers through training, networking and recognition. Every volunteer is allowed to vote once on the new bylaws. Involving Parents 

There is a lot to running a club or project and volunteers could use some help at times. Volunteers should consider parents, grandparents and other family members of their membership as assets.
