National 4-H Congress
Each year, 4-H'ers who have achieved the highest awards by winning either a State Award or a State Contest are invited to attend National Congress.
National Congress is held at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, Georgia. Delegates spend 5 days in Atlanta attending leadership and citizenship workshops and participating in community service activities. One of the many highlights of this longstanding program is the chance to interact with many different 4-H members from around the country.
National 4-H Congress takes place each November beginning the Friday after Thanksgiving. Montana delegates begin their trip on Thanksgiving day and return the following Tuesday. Participation is by invitation to individuals who have won a state award or a state contest. Delegates travel with chaperones to Atlanta, GA for a week in November. For more information about how to submit a state award or participate in state level contests, contact your MSU County Extension Agent.
This is an award trip supported by the Montana 4-H Foundation. Delegates are required to pay a portion of the trip cost.
Visit the National 4-H Congress website for event information, and follow National 4-H Congress on Facebook.
Chaperones
Two Montana chaperones are supported by the Montana 4-H Leaders' Council. One chaperone is a council member and one is an at-large volunteer. The at-large volunteer is chosen by an application process. The Leaders' Council reviews National Congress chaperone applications at their July meeting.
If you are interested in becoming a chaperone for this trip please complete the online chaperone application.
