Biography

Kara Allen Earlene Hart Memorial Scholarship Kara Allen is a senior in the Dietetics program and is from Milan, IL. She is a wife, mom of two small children, full time student and works. With all this going on she has still found the time to improve and serve her community. She has been working to reduce food insecurity on the MSU campus. She is a dedicated member of the Bounty of the Bridgers staff as well as the treasurer of the Montana Student Dietetics Association. She always brings a helpful and cheerful attitude when it comes to serving her community.
Ignacio Alonso Outstanding Sophomore Service Award Ignacio is from Ciudad de Buenos Aires and is stuyding Agricultural Business. He has dedicated hours to community engagement and leadership development. Through the Leadership Institute, he led Hard Conversations workshops, fostering empathy and initiative, vital values in his approach. Ignacio embodies 'lead-by-example', initiating conversations and demonstrating vulnerability to encourage others. With Club Latino, he creates a familial atmosphere, reflecting Latin culture's de-structured gatherings. His service extends to supporting individuals' growth, prioritizing others' needs in soccer matches and Martial Arts training. Ignacio's commitment illustrates service as integral to community connection, empowering others to engage meaningfully and fostering a sense of belonging.
Ashley Anderson Gold Standard MSU Student Employment Award Originally from Frisco, TX Ashley is studying Business. She is undeniably dependable and hard working. Her attention to detail and initiative are unmatched by many of her peers. She is a valuable member of the AYCSS team.
Hannah Anderson USH Calmer of Storms Award Hannah is from Billings, MT and an Honors student studying industrial engineering. Hannah has worked for University Student Housing, for two years as a resident advisor and one as an Assistant Community Director. While Hannah has worn many hats (like being the USH Sustainability Committee Co-Chair) and accomplished many things (notably, the Olga Ross Hannon Re-Dedication Ceremony), Hannah is being recognized today for her service as a member of the Senior Staff on-call rotation, where she significantly contributes to the safety & wellbeing on our on-campus community.
Tanner Anderson Orientation Leader of the Year Award Tanner is from Missoula, MT and is studying Computer Engineering. Tanner continually models for his peers what it means to be an excellent Orientation Leader. He’s knowledgeable, eager to learn, not afraid to speak up, takes on any challenge, and above all else...is an outstanding friend. Tanner strives to be the best Orientation Leader he can by always asking for the “why” and looking to provide accurate information to students. He’s logical, decisive, and a natural leader.  
Walker Ator Montana Future Leaders Award Walker is a Political Science student  and is a part of the Montana’s Own program. He has used career services for resume reviews and mock interviews and they have been impressed with his drive, determination, and professionalism.
Breanna Blain Teaching and Mentoring Award Breanna is a sophomore from Joliet, Montana, majoring in Agricultural Education - Broadfield Teaching. She currently serves as a peer mentor within the Hilleman Scholars Program and as President of MSU’s Collegiate 4-H. Breanna is particularly skilled at building community and a sense of belonging for students she is mentoring.
Addy Bolton Blue & Gold Leadership Award Addy is from Sheridan, WY and is studying Cell Biology and neuroscience. Over the course of the year, it could be argued that no student made as significant an impact on the Office of Admissions’ accomplishments than Addy Bolton. The first to serve as Coordinator for Admissions’ Student Ambassador program, Addy stepped into a largely undefined role, and established a foundation of success for the position and program alike to build upon moving forward. Addy’s attention to detail, creative thinking, and ability to work autonomously created new opportunities for Student Ambassadors to become a bigger part of the office’s Daily Visit, and MSU Friday programs, and garnered the recognition of her peers as being more than just a leader, but a mentor, who’s example will be one to follow for years to come.
Trent Bratz Fraternity New Member of the Year Award Trent’s impact on his fraternity has been remarkable, characterized by his dedication to instigating positive change. Despite initial challenges as the youngest Treasurer in this chapter’s history, he rose to the occasion, spearheading a financial overhaul with newfound responsibility and support from his brothers. His active involvement in chapter events has fostered a vibrant new culture, significantly increasing attendance and fostering a stronger sense of community. For Trent, being part of this fraternity represents more than just social connections—it's about belonging to something greater and honing essential skills for the future. His fraternity experience has not only enriched his college experience, but also provided him with a tight-knit brotherhood and a sense of home at MSU.
Madeline Breckon Septemviri Award Madeline is a junior from Colorado Springs, CO studying film at Montana State University. She has serves as President of the Women's Club Volleyball team and is also on the MSU Club Sports Executive Board. Some tasks Maddie preforms as the President of the team include social media, club events, managing practices and player conflicts, officer meetings, and competing out of state against other D1 universities. She is also the Front of House Manager on MSU SFP’s current production of She Kills Monsters. She coaches club volleyball to high schooler and middle schoolers in Montana in her free time.
Brandon Cabaniss Outstanding Junior Leadership Award  This is Brandon's second award this evening.
Brandon Cabaniss Septemviri Award Brandon is a sophmore studiyng Cell Biology and Neuroscience with a minor in Psychology on the Pre-Med Track. He is most proud of his time as the President of Cancer Support Community University, member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, and volunteering with Eagle Mount.
Gracie Caldwell Outstanding Freshman Leadership Award Gracie comes from Antelope ,CA and is a passionate environmental science freshman, whose main interests concern water quality, access, and law. She plans on graduating with an B.S. in Environmental Sciences, a Baccalaureate from Honors, and potentially a water resources minor. She is currently the president of Hapner Hall Council, president of Citizens Climate Lobby MSU, and is an Honors Ambassador. She loves being involved, and hopes to one day enter water law to ensure water is safe and accessible for the public.
Jack Cambria Honors College Exemplary Leadership and Service Award Jack is from Arlington Heights, Illinois and will graduate summa cum laude from MSU this May, with a degree in Biochemistry as well as with his Honors Baccalaureate Degree. Jack is a Montana Area Health Education Center Scholar, and has participated in the Moral Courage curriculum and in a Violence Prevention workshop through the VOICE center. He is a member of the Students Against Sexual Assault Student Organization. Jack was selected as a Cameron Presidential Scholar and an Honors Ambassador, submitted a manuscript on CRISPR-cas Immune response coordination. He is a volunteer with Eagle Mount and served as a teaching assistant in Human Anatomy and Physiology Courses.
George Carpenter Lawrence Hiller Scholarship Originally from Sidney, MT, George has shown excellence in advocating for students with disabilities on campus. As a Senior this year, George has assisted greatly in making MSU a more accessible campus.
Aidan Coffey USH Pinnacle Award This is Aidan's second award this evening.
Aidan Coffey Max Worthington Service Award Aidan comes from Litchfield Park ,AZ, and is a senior majoring in Chemical Engineering. He brings three years of experience as a Resident Advisor, contributing significantly to community cultivation across campus. Beyond his role in housing, Aidan is dedicated to educating others about the historical significance individuals have had on our community.
Peyton Collings Gold Standard MSU Student Employment Award Peyton is from New Jersey and is a Pre-Nursing student. When Peyton was interviewed through the Gold Standard Student Employment program – she impressed the staff. It is obviously that Peyton is resilient, hardworking, motivated, and kind. Peyton went on to work with the Leadership Institute where she could put her leadership skills to work! 
Molly Coonfield Erma Lessel Collins Junior Award Molly is studying Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Mechatronics and is from Wenatchee, WA. She is Secretary of Eta Kappa Nu, Vice President of the MSU Swim Club and Assistance director of Scholarship for Chi Omega.
Marina Correa USH Pinnacle Award Marina, from Bainbridge Island Washington, is a music technology student. Marina has been working for University Student Housing since January 2021 when she started as a desk clerk. She quickly learned the role and transitioned to being a mentor for her peers in training. Marina also served as a Summer Conference Assistant in 2022 and 2023, and continues to work in the Housing Central office as she has a assumed a variety of new responsibilities and projects. She always goes above and beyond and has demonstrated an unwavering commitment as a student employee for University Student Housing for over 3 years.
Madison Craigie Septemviri Award Madison is a freshman from Coeur d'Alene, ID studying Architecture. She is thrilled to work with the Montana State Leadership Institute as a Student Associate to launch programs and workshops serving MSU and the greater Bozeman community.
Rebecca Cross Septemviri Award Rebecca grew up in Australia, where she received my first bachelor's and master's degrees. She then moved to Japan working as an ESL specialist for almost a decade working in Junior High Schools. To continue her teaching career, she returned to university to attain her teaching credentials.  She is lucky to have three countries she can call home and families in all of them at  her back.
Will DeDominic Septemviri Award Will, a dedicated management student with a passion for conveservation economics come from Novato, CA. He is the founder of an innovative fly fishing club that serves as an educational and conservation hub for students worldwide. Driven by his vision, Will founded the university's fly fishing club, which quickly gained popularity among students from diverse backgrounds. Will aspires to make a meaningful impact by helping create and build upon sustainable infrastructure in every endeavor.
Peter DelGiorno Bobcat Family Fellows Scholarship Hailing from Henderson, NV and studying Mechanical Engineering, Peter has shown exemplary leadership. He is always the first to volunteer to help in any capacity and is often told that he can’t work extra shifts or provide coverage because he has worked too many. He has responded to numerous crisis and after-hours situations with professionalism and makes it a point to follow up with the RAs involved.
He goes out of his way to gain more skills, knowledge, and experience—when he was applying to be an Assistant Community Director, he asked to attend all the RA training classes because he wanted to make sure he could help the next group of student leaders be successful and wanted a chance to practice leading a group in training. He’s the kind of genuine leader that always points to his team as the reason for success and always looks for ways to improve and grow.
Carter Dorsett Graduate Excellence Award for Scholarship Excellence Carter is a graduate student in the Department of Education’s Curriculum and Instruction program and is from Bozeman, MT. He has focused his thesis research on the role that identity and background play in how students experience online learning. Carter's contributions to educational technology integration at MSU also include his efforts in MSU’s Academic Technology and Outreach, where he serves as the Teaching & Learning Technologies Manager.
Jason Dua Christy Foundation Scholarship Jason is a freshman here at Montana State University, majoring in biomedical engineering with a minor in Japanese Studies. He is a second generation American/Japanese dual citizen in the Delta Lambda Chapter of Kappa Sigma. He is most proud of his volunteer work with teaching kids to play ice hockey in his hometown of Seattle, Washington.
Timothy Dubler Outstanding Junior Service Award TJ is from Centennial, CO. He is a second-year architecture student, and a man of many hats. He serves as the Vice President of Communications for Sigma Phi Epsilon, volunteers as a confidential Voice Center Advocate, is an ambassador for the College of Arts and Architecture, and prides his time as a Writing Center peer tutor. In his personal time, TJ is consumed by architecture projects, classical piano, oil painting, digital photography, and outdoor adventure. To him, nothing is funnier than an absurd pun or dad joke. He loves to take walks through campus to clear his mind and admires Fraterni-TEA Time with his brothers.
Jack Evans Val G. Glynn Award Jack is a graduating Senior from Redmond, Washington who Majored in Business Management with a Minor in Economics. He has served as a Mentor for the Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship, an Ex Officio Board of Directors Member for Sacajawea Audubon Society, Student Ambassador for the College of Business, Sophomore SURGE Mentor, Current Teacher Assistant for BMIS 311 Excel Course, and a Founder’s Day Award for Student Excellence Recipient.
Triston Fabich Montana Future Leaders Award Triston is one of our Access Scholars and takes advantage of the many resources available to him to ensure his career success.
Josh Fairbanks Advocat of the Year Award Josh is from Roscommon, MI and is studying Business. When you first meet Josh, he won’t strike you as someone actively seeking praise or adulation. That’s because he isn’t. He doesn’t have to be. The signs of respect and appreciation he is offered come as direct results of the dedication, hard-work, and “What else can I help with?” attitude he brings to the table each day he sets foot on campus. In just his first year working with the Office of Admissions, Josh’s easy-going approach to student leadership has made an immediate impression on his peers and campus partners alike. Since joining our team, Josh has emerged as one of the most dependable and relied upon AdvoCats, and we all look forward to seeing what recognition he receives next… whether he asks for it or not.
Jen Farrell Orientation Leader of the Year Award Jen is from Caldwell, ID and is a Nursing student. Jen has been involved in the Orientation leader program for 4 years! It’s been a true joy to watch Jen grow, learn, persevere, and thrive in the OL position. Jen is a true servant leader. Jen is always ready to jump in, actively works to build community amongst our OLs, and a has been a trusted returner answering questions and offering advice. Thank you for your years of service and congratulations on graduating!
Morgan Fiereck Emerging Leadership Award Morgan, from Sauk Rapid, Minnesota, is a sophomore studying microbiology. Morgan is being recognized for her exemplary performance as a first-year RA. She has shown commitment to her floor and community, making sure her residents feel welcomed, connected and cared for. Morgan has demonstrated immense responsibility, approachability, and empathy through her role and as a peer coworker. Morgan humbly accepts feedback in her desire to grow as a leader.
Tabitha Flemings Teaching and Mentoring Award Tabitha is a junior from Helena, Montana, majoring in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. She currently serves as a dedicated and hardworking peer mentor for both the Hilleman Scholars Program and Morrill Scholars Program, positively impacting more students than we can count.
Teidyn Gage Women's Center Student of Achievement Award Teidyn is a Hilleman scholar and a senior graduating with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Teidyn volunteers with the VOICE Center and serves on the ASMSU VOICE Center Committee. Their research in the Sociology of Trauma has informed their future life path as they pursue a master’s degree in mental health counseling.
Ginny Lou Garabedian President's Award for Gender Equity Ginny is an Honors student studying for a double major in Music and Global & Multicultural Studies with a concentration in Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies and she comes from Spokane, WA. She is a peer advocate at the Voice Center where she works to reduce the shame and stigma many survivors of interpersonal violence experience. Ginny Lou is also on the Survivor Fund Board and in that role she disperses monetary assistance to survivors. She has also completed several research projects on topics such as comprehensive sex education, the role of gender in children’s sports, trans women’s rights in sports, and the prevalence of gender and sex trafficking within the pornography industry. Ginny Lou aims to continue to make impactful changes in gender equality by attending law school and working with policy transformation around these topics and other gender issues.
Olivia Gorham Graduate Excellence Award for Scholarship Excellence An Albuquerque NM native, Olivia ,  is a Master’s thesis candidate who exemplifies commitment to the scope of environmental cinema. Olivia explores ecological sensibility, climate aesthetics, eco - criticism, microscopic worlds, and narrative fragmentation. Olivia’s work has showcased in the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, on PBS, and is a recipient of the Yellowstone National Park media grant. Olivia is currently in production of a short portrait film exploring regenerative ranching practices in Southwest Montana. Olivia exemplifies our core values and goals in her course work and ongoing development as a filmmaker who cares.
Jovany Guillen Spirit Activism Award Coming to MSU from Dillion MT,  Jovany is studying Art. The award he is being regocnized for this evening, is given to a student who embodies leadership, citizenship, and community involvement, demonstrating these characteristics through their achievements and work toward social justice.
Mya Hadley Teaching and Mentoring Award Mya is a junior from Plevna, Montana, majoring in Health Enhancement. Her enthusiasm, charisma, and kind demeanor as a Hilleman Scholars Program peer mentor influenced many of her mentees to pursue a peer mentor role themselves.
Reese Harnick Blue & Gold Leadership Award Reese is from Whitefish, MT and is studying Business. Reese is a bright light always making others smile and laugh. She is beyond welcoming and approachable for our students and Orientation Leaders. Not to mention, she LOVES every chance to talk to parents during Orientation. Reese has an ability to be stern and serious while still being kind and confident.  Reese has taken on many roles in the Office of Admissions and we just can’t get enough of her because we have so much faith in her abilities.
Kimberley Hegg Teaching and Mentoring Award Kimberly is a junior from Billings, Montana, majoring in Community Health. She is a thoughtful, strong, and resourceful peer mentor within the Hilleman Scholars Program. Overseeing the program’s FlowZone study sessions, Kim ensures that all scholars have access to reliable tutoring resources. 
Cole Henry Montana Future Leaders Award Cole is a senior from Corvallis, Montana, graduating with a degree in psychology. Throughout his time at MSU, Cole has served as an exemplary leader within both the Hilleman and Morrill Scholars Program. He has also served the Bozeman community as a volunteer mentor with BYEP. Cole is passionate about improving mental health outcomes for rural Montanans.
Seamus Hoolahan Graduate Excellence Award for Land Grant Excellence Seamus is originally from Anaconda, Montana, where he cultivated a passion for volunteer service and community engagement. For eight consecutive summers, he has dedicated his time to a substance abuse prevention summer camp through Anaconda Community Intervention. Seamus has also demonstrated a commitment to community engagement at MSU, investing over 1,400 hours in volunteer service and serving on the leadership teams of Tau Beta Pi, Kiwanis Circle K, and the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in chemical and biological engineering and will graduate in May with a Master of Science in Innovation and Management.
Tom Horan Advocat of the Year Award Tom is from Straw. MT and is studying Business. Tom is one of, if not THE very first freshmen/first-year students to serve as an AdvoCat, and where his knowledge base on the facts and stats of MSU may have lacked initially, he more than made up for through his willingness to learn, improve and make an impact through the program he now calls his own. Tom may have only been at MSU for just shy of a year, but his involvement in MSU’s Office of Admissions, Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship and School of Music have provided him with opportunities to engage in all aspects of the student experience, developing a Student Leader we are all sure to continue celebrating throughout his college career.
Ella Horgan Ethelyn C. Harrison Leadership Award Ella is from East Lansing, MI and is studying microbiology with an emphasis in environmental health and entomology. She is a currently an ambassador for the college of agriculture and a non-voting member for the Montana Mindfulness project.
Chidimma Ifeh International Graduate Excellence Award  Chidimma comes from Anambra, Nigeria and is a food scientist who is passionate about how science and technology can support farmers. She is dedicated to her unwavering pursuit of excellence, passion for service and community outreach. She wears a big smile and embodies kindness.
Ochuwa Imokhai Spirit Outstanding Student Award Coming to MSU from Afowa-Uzairue, Edo State, Nigeria, Precious is studying Health Sciences. The award they are being recognized for is given to a student who embodies leadership, citizenship, and involvement and belongs to an underrepresented identity group, including Black and African-American students, Indigenous and American Indian/Alaska Native students, Hispanic and Latinx students, LGBTQ+ students, non-traditional students, students with disabilities, and students from other underrepresented cultural, racial, and religious identities.
Ryan Johnson Lawrence Hiller Scholarship Originally from Anchorage, AK, Ryan has shown excellence in advocating for students with disabilities on campus. As a Sophomore this year, Ryan has assisted greatly in making MSU a more accessible campus.
Bailey Jones Sorority Member of the Year Award Bailey’s journey with her chapter began active involvement from her freshman year, where she served as Vice President of Foundation, passionately raising funds for our philanthropy, Service for Sight. Her leadership continued into her sophomore year, where she took on the role of Chapter President, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for all members. Currently, as Panhellenic Standards and Scholarship Chair and a member of our honor board team, she remains dedicated to upholding her chapter's values. Beyond her official roles, Bailey’s willingness to lend a helping hand and her genuine commitment to our sisterhood exemplify her deep connection to her community. Her sorority has become her home away from home, providing not only lifelong friendships but also purpose and countless opportunities for personal growth.
Tess Kirkpatrick Honors College Exemplary Leadership and Service Award Tess Kirkpatrick is from Corrales, New Mexico and will graduate summa cum laude from MSU this May with a degree in Biochemistry as well as with her Honors Baccalaureate Degree. She has been engaged in undergraduate research with Drs. Matthew Fields and Brent Payton, and served as an Honors College Ambassador and Hike and Read Counselor. Outside MSU, Tess is a Hunter Education instructor, a soccer coach as well as a tutor for kids in our community. She is a legal assistant and is certified in Adult/Pediatric First Aid and in Wilderness First Aid. She will enter MSU’s MSIM program this coming fall.
Olivia Klujewski Blue & Gold Leadership Award Olivia is from Palatine, IL and is studying Sociology. This year, Olivia’s hard work and dedication were rewarded in her being named as one of the Student Coordinators of the Office of Admissions’ AdvoCat program. Olivia’s dedication to the program inspired her to reimagine the Campus Tour training process over the Summer of 2023, providing a fresh start not only to the academic year, but to the program for both returning and first-time AdvoCats. Olivia’s friendly face and positive attitude in the office have been a constant throughout the year, reinforcing the student-first atmosphere that make Admissions and Montana State such inviting places for visiting students and families each day.
Maleeya Knows His Gun Women's Center Student of Achievement Award Maleeya Knows His Gun is a proud member of the Crow and Northern Cheyenne tribes of Montana and will graduate in December with a degree in American Studies and minor in Native American Studies.  Maleeya has served as the co-president of the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Persons student organization and has coordinated No More Stolen Sisters Awareness basketball games through Bobcat Athletics. She has been instrumental in planning MMIP Awareness Day and uses her platform as Miss Indian MSU to highlight this issue.

Darya Lester Graduate Excellence Award for Teaching Excellence Darya Lester, is a proud 9th generation Bozemanite, and graduate student at MSU School of Architecture. Throughout her time as a graduate student, Darya excelled as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, contributing her expertise to multiple courses. She proved invaluable in supporting undergraduate students, especially in ARCH 340, where she stood out as the sole teaching assistant for a course that typically has four assistants. Despite the demanding workload, Darya managed her responsibilities adeptly, balancing teaching, hefty grading, and her own graduate Master’s Project.
Anja Lincke Women's Center Student of Achievement Award This is Anja's second award this evening.
Anja Lincke Clifton Award Anja Lincke is from Alaska and will graduate in May with a degree in Sociology and a Leadership Fellows Certificate.  Anja serves as a Student Diversity Advisor through ASMSU where they chaired a DEI committee tasked with collaborating DEI efforts across campus.  They worked as a trip leader of multiple single and multi-day trips through MSU’s Outdoor Recreation Program where they integrated leave no trace principles, storytelling and Indigenous history. Anja is currently investigating ways to improve a sense of belonging for women and non-binary students and faculty in STEM.
Keely Livingston Advocat of the Year Award Keely is from Palmer, AK and is studying Cell Biology and Neuroscience. Keely is dependable, driven, and dedicated. She works hard, and as a result, has earned the appreciation and admiration of her peers beyond just the AdvoCat program, but all across campus. With that infectious smile and humble demeanor, Keely offers quite possibly the friendliest “Welcome to MSU” of anyone on campus. Her investment in the experience of the students and families she crosses paths with is indicative of the value she has for the time and effort they’ve put into visiting Montana State. This evening, I ask that you join me in wondering not “if”, but rather, “for how many” Keely Livingston was the reason they chose to be at Montana State.
Adiesha Liyanage Graduate Excellence Award for Scholarship Excellence A Sri Lanka native, Adiesha, a finishing PhD student in computer science in Gianforte School of Computing, has made a significant amount of contributions in his thesis research on string algorithms originated from computational biology. Coming to MSU with only a BS degree in 2019, Adiesha has published three research papers and has two more currently under review.
Suzanne Loviska Bobcat Family Fellows Scholarship This is Suzanne's second award of the evening.
Suzanne Loviska Women's Center Student of Achievement Award Suzanne Loviska is senior in Psychology with a minor in International Business and is from Kalispell, MT.  She will graduate in May and appreciates her exposure to a diverse range of cultures, perspectives and backgrounds broadening her understanding of global issues and fueling her passion for social change during her time at MSU. Her volunteerims and time working at the VOICE Center and membership in Women in Business have been influential on her.  Dedicated to immersing herself in male-dominated spaces to break stereotypes, Suzanne hopes that she has impacted an appreciation of diverse perspectives.
Ashley Lyons Bobcat Family Fellows Scholarship Originally from Red Bluff, CA and studying Cell Biology and Neuroscience, Ashley has been a VOICE Center advocate both years that she has attended MSU. During her time in this role, Ashley noticed an opportunity to improve and expand the training that advocates get when they take the crisis line after hours. Ashley noticed there was not a physical resource that advocates could keep on them to notice signs of declining mental health. Unprompted, Ashely reached out to Know the Signs to get symptom handouts that advocates could keep on their person. Through this, Ashley demonstrated leadership and drive that improved the VOICE Center’s phone training protocols. Additionally, Ashley holds a supervisory position on the UPD student security team. In this position, Ashley has worked tirelessly to keep MSU safe. Ashley is driven by a want to improve MSU. No matter what her official role is, Ashley stands out as a leader that never misses an opportunity to make a difference at MSU.
Nikolas Malick Graduate Excellence Award for Teaching Excellence Nik is a graduate student studying Architecture from Seattle, WA. The School of Architecture faculty selected Nik for this award based on his performance as a Graduate Teaching Assist for the past 3 semesters. Nik has made a profound impact on 1st year Architecture students. His willingness to help students and connection with them has been outstanding.
Molly McGinley Blue & Gold Leadership Award Molly is from Helena, MT and is studying Psychology. Molly is a natural leader. She has an ability to jump in on any task and laugh through about any challenge.  She helps guide the Orientation Leader program with thoughtful feedback and insight. She is a trusted member of the Orientation team always offering a smile, a hello, or a laugh. She is a shoulder that all can lean on.  
Bryana McKay Lawrence Hiller Scholarship Originally from Corvallis, MT, Bryana has shown excellence in advocating for students with disabilities on campus. As a Graduate Masters student, Bryana has assisted greatly in making MSU a more accessible campus.
Hope McWilliams VOICE Center Empowerment Award A Hayden Idaho native, Hope is a senior in Cell Biology and Neuroscience. She has been a pillar of community service both in the Gallatin County and in Idaho. As a peer advocate at the VOICE Center, a Survivor Fund Board Member, co-president of the Brownie Club and a member of We Are HER, Hope has truly made a difference in the community. The VOICE Center has been so lucky to have had Hope's leadership, dedication, and kindness in our office over the past four years.

Celie Meier Graduate Excellence Award for Teaching Excellence Celie is a native of Minnesota. She completed her bachelor’s degree in forestry from the University of Minnesota in 2011. Following graduation, she worked several intermittent and federal jobs related to conservation and worked for USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service Montana in 2020. Having planned to do a master’s degree, MSU had the ideal program. She continued to work full time, complete her graduate school studies, and take on a graduate teaching assistant position for Soils in 2022 and 2023. The most fulfilling part of Celie’s graduate program has been working with the undergraduate students on campus. She now works for the US Forest Service as the Regional Planner for the Northern Region.
Rhianna Merriman Women's Center Student of Achievement Award Rhianna is from Anchorage, Alaska and will graduate in May with a degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience.  Rio serves as an American Indian Hall Volunteer Tutor and a Pre-Health Advising Peer Tutor. Her work with the MSU VOICE Center and their Survivor Fund quickly helped her realize the importance and positive impact this assistance can have on those experiencing interpersonal violence and trauma. Rio will attend medical school and hopes to become the best physician possible to serve her community.
Gianna Migliaccio Blue & Gold Leadership Award Gianna is from Florence, MT and is stuying Cell Biology and Neuroscience. Throughout her time as one of the AdvoCat Student Coordinators, Gianna has gone above and beyond any expectations. Having been a part of AdvoCats for several years, Gianna had a strong understanding of what has made the program so successful over the years, and a unique perspective on the blind-spots which in some circumstances could be improved upon moving forward. Whether grading exams or projects, or taking time to mentor new AdvoCats on the importance of their own position within the program, there has never been a task or ask too big or small for Gianna. Simply put, every single office, department, and organization across campus hopes to have the opportunity to work with students like Gianna, and the Office of Admissions will have an immense hole to fill upon her graduation at the end of the year.
Ella Morton Sorority New Member of the Year Award Ella is a Sophomore studying Business Management with a minor in Psychology and is from Alberquerque, NM. Ella is most proud of her involvement in multiple organizations on campus. She is an active member of Chi Omega, an Intern at the MSU Leadership Institute, a Yoga Instructor for Campus Recreation, and a leader on an MSU Breaksaway Trip. She is a proud Bobcat and loves our campus and community.

Kayleigh Neal Septemviri Award Kayleigh is a sophomore at Montana State and is going to school to become a History Teacher and is studying Secondary Education. Her biggest accomplishment in college has been being the Co-President of an all girl outdoor Club where they create a safe community and opportunities to learn and grow in outdoor activities.
Precious Olatide International Undergraduate Excellence Award  Precious  is an undergraduate in Electrical Engineering at Montana State University from Ibadan, Nigeria. She is a freshman, but she has involved herself in different service/ leadership roles, which can be seen as she presently works as a desk clerk at the University Housing department, preparing to be an orientation leader during the next summer session for first-year students attending MSU next fall. She is an Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society member at MSU and hopes to be a Resident Advisor in the coming session.
Gabryelle Perkins Graduate Excellence Award for Scholarship Excellence Born in Livingston and raised in Shields Valley, Gabryelle is a proud Montana native who taught high school English in Sweet Grass County for eleven years before pursuing her Master of Arts in English Education. Gabby attended the Yellowstone Writing Project in 2021, was congressionally honored as "Montanan of the Month" in 2022, serves as a camp counselor for MSU's Youth Writing Camp each summer, and has worked alongside other Montana educators to develop diverse and engaging ELA curriculums for rural high school students.
Hayden Pritchard Student Organization Leader of the Year Hayden is from Bozeman and is studying Mechanical Engineering. He has brought life back into the Skimo club this year! He works diligently to lower barriers of entry to the ski mountaineering sport. He has earned funding to cover the costs of race registrations and works with local businesses to provide ski equipment at a discount. Hayden has an obvious love for the Skimo community and has served as a great leader for the club all while earning his master's degree.
Carson Putnam Women's Center Student of Achievement Award Carson will graduate in May with a degree in Psychology and is from Helena, MT. His tenor at the MSU VOICE Center as an advocate and peer mentor, his work with Hope House and Forward Montana and with Human Resource Development Council cleaning the Warming Center have all helped Carson recognize his privilege.  He hopes to leverage this privilege to raise awareness around disenfranchised people and have a positive impact on the Bozeman community. Carson also plays in a jazz trio and a local rock band and hopes to create a safe and inclusive moshing environment for all.
Catherine Rangel Outstanding Health Advocacy Award Catherine, from Great Falls MT, is a sophomore studying pre-nursing. Cat is being recognized for this award due to the profound impact Cat has had on her residents. Cat worked tirelessly to connect residents to resources and support systems across campus as well as to create a nurturing environment with a focus on mental health. Furthermore, Cat has gone above and beyond to support her students affected by the ongoing war in Israel/Gaza. By taking extra steps to support students' specific needs during challenging times, Cat exemplifies the essence of health advocacy.
Jack Ransome Christy Foundation Scholarship Jack is a Freshman from Fairfield, CT. He is a Member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity  and active in philanthropy throughout the community supporting those in need in Bozeman, MT and the Warriors & Quiet Waters veteran program.
Keilen Rausch Montana Future Leaders Award Keilen is a junior from Libby, Montana, majoring in Biochemistry on the Pre-Med track. He is an exceptional leader in his roles as a Hilleman Scholar Lead Mentor, CAP mentor, and student associate for his classes. Keilen plans to pursue medical school, with hopes to eventually practice in rural Montana.

Ethan Richardson Septemviri Award Ethan is a dedicated second year student and mentor. He is from Montana and is studying English. Working within the Allen Yarnell Center for Student Success, he operates as a peer mentor for a cohort of over 50 first year students,  including during the summer at the summer success academy.
Miller Rijfkogel Lawrence Hiller Scholarship Originally from Tehachapi, CA, Miller has shown excellence in advocating for students with disabilities on campus. As a Senior this year, Miller has assisted greatly in making MSU a more accessible campus as president of the Disabled Students Association of MSU.

Lily Rygh Montana Future Leaders Award Lily is studying University Studies. She is highly organized, responsible, and motivated. She engaged in the class on a consistent basis and communicated any absences or questions she had.
Quinn Sanderson Christy Foundation Scholarship Quinn is a senior at Montana State who is double-majoring in Economics and English Literature with minors in Political Science and Global Studies. At Montana State, she is most proud of her work as a peer tutor at the MSU Writing Center, as a research assistant at the MSU Initiative for Regulation and Applied Economic Analysis, and as an Associate Justice on the ASMSU Supreme Court.
Lily Savage Una. B Herrick Award Lily is a Senior at Montana State University originally from San Diego, California. She is receiving a BS in Sociology and a minor in English Writing this spring. Lily is most proud of being a student associate at the Leadership Institute working alongside other students who “inspire students to become leaders who serve as catalysts for positive change.” Lily is also proud to be a leader in everyday life amongst her colleagues, family, and friends.
George Schaible Graduate Excellence Award for Scholarship Excellence A Montana Native, George earned his B.S. in Microbial Biotechnology with minors in Biochemistry and Astrobiology from Montana State University in 2014. After graduation, he worked as a research assistant before moving to Beijing to teach English to middle school students. He moved back to Montana to work for the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, ultimatley returning to MSU to begin his PhD. In 2020 George was named a Future Investigator in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology (FINESST). He graduated in January 2024 and now conducts a short postdoc in his PhD lab before he starting a postdoctoral position at UC Santa Barbara (CA) in June 2024.
Daniel Sierra Graduate Excellence Award for Land Grant Excellence Born in Medellin, Colombia and a Flathead High School alumni, Daniel has demonstrated leadership within the Masters of Innovation and Leadership program and beyond. He has focused his career on helping small organizations thrive, and continues to leave a positive impact on those who have studied and worked alongside him.
Oz Smith Women's Center Student of Achievement Award Oz will graduate this May with a degree in Sociology.  Oz is from Bozeman and has been instrumental in planning and executing pop-up events for the Trans Closet project, a mutual aid organization that provides free gender-affirming clothing for trans folks.  They have worked with Pride House to mentor LGBTQ+ youth and presented programs on queer and disabled sexual health with the Oh-Hi Collective.  Oz is working to develop a comprehensive LGBTQ+ resource list for the Bozeman area in collaboration with Bridgercare and to help trans youth and their families connect with peers and gender affirming medical providers.
Samantha Snow Roland R. Renne Award Samantha is a third-year student from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and hopes to work in transportation design after graduation. Coming from a long line of Bobcats, Samantha was eager to get involved on campus. She is a member of the Associated Students of Montana State University (ASMSU), where she serves as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. In this role, she upholds students' rights and maintains fairness of student body elections.
Nevaeh Spotted Eagle Teaching and Mentoring Award Nevaeh is a senior from Harlem, Montana, preparing to graduate with a degree in nursing. Nevaeh previously peer mentored within the Hilleman Scholars Program and currently serves as peer mentor with the AIH. She is a supportive and positive role model who has helped her peers feel valued and cared for as they navigate life at MSU.
Milo Steiner Lawrence Hiller Scholarship As a Bozeman, MT native, Milo has shown excellence in advocating for students with disabilities on campus. Being a Junior this year, Milo has assisted greatly in making MSU a more accessible campus.
Jack Stephens Fraternity Member of the Year Jack is an exemplary leader, is celebrated for his unwavering dedication and impactful contributions within and beyond the fraternity. Elected Fraternity president in 2022, he implemented innovative solutions leaving a lasting legacy for future executive teams. Under his guidance, his fraternity achieved unprecedented recognition, including a Gold Chapter Award. Beyond his fraternity, Jack’s leadership resonated in his roles as an AdvoCat, Ducks Unlimited Co-Chair, member of the Student Advisory Committee, and showcasing his commitment to community service and shaping a brighter future for Montana State University students. He has a great working relationship with multiple offices on campus and works hard to represent MSU as IFC President.
Maddison Stephens Graduate Excellence Award for Land Grant Excellence Maddison is graduating this Spring from the Master of Professional Accountancy program, and has served throughout the academic year as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship. Born in Ogden, Utah, she has earned her Bachelors in Accounting with a Finance Minor from MSU, graduating with Highest Honors. She also completed the Honors College curriculum, graduating Cum Laude. As a GTA this last year, she has tutored fellow students and provided vital support managing MSU's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program - a program that provides free tax help to members of the Bozeman Community. She was able to leverage her past internship experience at both small firms like Amatics CPA Group in Bozeman and "Big 4" firms like KPMG LLP in Anchorage, Alaska to provide advice and guidance to her classmates in the program. 
Rebekah Storlie Roskie Memorial Scholarship  Rebekah is a Freshman Kinesiology major, minoring in Coaching. She plans to attend graduate school post-grad in pursuit of a Master's in Athletic Training. She is most proud of her leadership in the Elementary Volleyball Program during her senior year of high school. She organized teams and scheduling and coached a team of 4th graders. She also is a proud member of the Undergraduate Research Council, a group working to promote undergrad research opportunities, and of the Campus Recreation Fitness Team, where she trains 1-on-1 clients and group strength classes.
Molly Strickland Orientation Leader of the Year Award Molly is from Gunnison, CO and is studying Biomedical Engineering. Molly is the definition of a servant leader and role model. She has a “can do” attitude, a quiet confidence, and the ability to jump in and help on pretty much any task. She is a team player and a trusted voice of reason. Molly is capable, hard working, and beyond welcoming to her students. She is such a trusted Orientation Leader and student worker within the Admissions office and we’ve been so lucky to have her as a member of the team over the last two years.  
Melia Swirsky Global Ambassador Award Melia is a junior studying Business Marketing and Sustainability. Her passion for study abroad came from the Honors Great Expeditions trip to Nepal this past May. She currently is spending the semester studying Food Systems through the School of International Training in Ecuador, Malawi, and Spain with a focus on agriculture, justice, and sustainability. 
Jaylyn Thaut Outstanding Freshman Service Award Jaylyn is a freshman at Montana State University and studying for a Bachelor of Arts degree in music technology. She is a Hilleman Scholar and comes from Lavina, MT. She plays in the Spirit of the West marching band and the Bobcat Pep Band. She intends to become a section leader in the marching band, continue to volunteer for HOBY, and volunteer for future events.
Kassidi Thompson Women's Center Student of Achievement Award Kassidi is from Littleton, CO and will graduate this month with a degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience and a minor in Hispanic Studies and Global Health.  She has been very active as a Senior Associate with MSU’s Leadership Institute throughout her college career and has most recently co-founded and serves as the Executive Director of English Para Todos, teaching English as a Foreign Language to Spanish speaking immigrants new to the Gallatin Valley. Kass is also a volunteer with the VOICE center, and is a member of both Students Against Sexual Assault and the VOICE Center’s Survivor Board.
Maya Usher Women's Center Student of Achievement Award Maya comes to us from San Diego, CA is majoring in both Psychology and Sociology with a Criminology Emphasis and a minor in Human Development; she will graduate in May.  Maya has been busy as a volunteer with several community organizations, including as a CAP mentor with Thrive and a Support Line volunteer with Haven. At MSU, Maya has worked with Project Connect as a Peer Facilitator, the Pre Law Club, the Asian Student Interracial Association, the Active Minds Club and the Disabled Student Association. Upon graduation, Maya will head to Denver to obtain her Master’s Degree in Social Work.
Flor Vega-Castillo President's Award for Gender Equity Flor is working towards her Master’s in Public Administration. She is a Peruvian international graduate student and a first-gen student with a passion for working towards diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. Flor founded the First-Generation Students Association at MSU and served as President for a year. The group serves mostly women members with students from many different majors. She serves as a Promotora de Salud (community health worker) at Proyecto Salud. Her role is to help Latina mothers with no English background, improve their mental health and well-being through behavioral activation techniques.

Emma Veldhuis Erma Lessel Collins Senior Award Emma is a senior from Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota studying Computer Science and a student of MSU’s Honors College. Emma has significantly served and contributed to the Fraternity Sorority Life Community at MSU through her time as a Chi Omega, taking on the role of chapter president during her sophomore year. Emma has also had a great impact as an Engineering Peer Academic Leader for NACOE. She has accepted a job as an Associate Software Engineer starting this summer in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Ella Waterhouse Award for Outstanding Student Worker in Disability Services Originally from Korbel, CA, Ella has been an excellent addition to our student worker roster. As a junior this year, she has completed major projects for us. This includes the mass transfer of thousands of files to enhance the safety and security of our students. Ella always shows up to work with great enthusiasm and is willing to help wherever we may need it. We look forward to working with her in our office in the future!

Madisynn Weber USH Outstanding Peer Leadership Award Madisynn Weber, from Billings MT, is a junior studying environmental sciences. This is Madisynn's second year working as a resident advisor on campus. Madisynn is being recognized for this award due to her leadership in mentoring new resident advisors during both semesters. Madisynn is always more than willing to help, whether by helping fill out incident reports during on calls or making space to include others into the larger group. She is eager to help her peers grow and succeed in their role, knowing that their success makes the whole community better.
Cheyenne Whiteman Women's Center Student of Achievement Award Cheyenne is from Crow Agency MT and is studying Nursing. She will complete her undergraduate degree this May. Cheyenne has been busy making a difference in her field by volunteering with the Caring for Our Own Program, the American Indian Council, the Mobile Health Training Program and Nurses for Sexual and Reproductive Health.  As a member of the Crow Nation and Miss Indian MSU, Cheyenne values her work as a Native Pathways to Success Leader, a Tutor at the American Indian/Alaska Native Student Success Center and her work with Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons.
Ethan Williams Gold Standard MSU Student Employment Award Ethan is from Frisco, TX and is studying Business. He takes on several roles in the Allen Yarnell Center for Student Success and is consistently dependable and reliable. Additionally, he carries such a positive attitude which makes him an incredible JMFS mentor and AYCSS employee.
Chloe Woodall Graduate Excellence Award for Land Grant Excellence Chloe is graduating this Spring with her Master of Science in Innovation and Management. Originally from Boise, Idaho, she earned her Bachelor's in Biological Engineering from MSU, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Throughout her academic journey, Chloe has been deeply engaged in her community, serving as an Honors College student fellow and ambassador, tutoring fellow students, leading campus clubs, and holding leadership positions within her sorority, Chi Omega. Now, as a master's student, she plays an integral role in recruiting new students and organizing on-campus events for the program.
Asian Student Interracial Association  Student Organization of the Year Award A.S.I.A. aims to cultivate an inclusive and authentic environment where students of diverse intersectional backgrounds can develop, embrace, and express their cultural identity to affirmatively impact the greater Montana State University community. ASIA has had a great impact on this campus and in the Bozeman community with events like- Asian Multicultural night, multicultural potluck and the international food bizarre. 
Chi Omega  Sorority of the Year Award In 2023, Chi Omega grew tremendously. They recruited 50 wonderful women in fall 23, raised over $3,000 for their philanthropy, had great scholastic achievements with over 40% of the chapter finishing the 2023 school year on the President’s or Dean’s list, 100% of the chapter is involved in a club or campus activity. They have also made leaps and bounds in their chapter development over this past year. They had members attend national leadership institutes. They have made house renovations. They have also been dedicated to training on Hazing Prevention Education and boosting chapter morale.
Sisterhood in this chapter is not just for four years, but it is for a lifetime. Attending school events like the Lighting of Montana Hall, Gold Rush, and Rail Jam, with sisters will be memories that last a lifetime, but memories made at the Hoot Hut on Garfield St. may last even longer.
We are beyond proud that this chapter has represented Fraternity and Sorority Life at Montana State University for over 102 years.
Sigma Nu  Fraternity of the Year Award Sigma Nu exemplifies excellence as the Chapter of the Year through their unwavering dedication to campus involvement, community service, and philanthropy, coupled with their commitment to personal and organizational growth through attendance at leadership conferences. Throughout the year, this fraternity has demonstrated a profound commitment to campus engagement, actively participating in a myriad of campus events, initiatives, and organizations. Moreover, their philanthropic efforts have made a tangible difference in the lives of those they serve, reflecting their deep-rooted values of compassion and generosity. Attending leadership conferences has empowered members to hone their leadership skills and implement positive change within the fraternity. As one member aptly stated, 'I felt like we all came together to try to make the fraternity better in our own way and I feel like we are making strides to achieve that,' encapsulating the collective spirit and dedication of this Fraternity towards continual improvement and excellence.
