In-Person Geology Field Camp
Course: GEO 429R: Field Geology
Instructors: Dr. Madison Myers and Dr. Johan Erikson
Dates: May 12 - 30, 2025
Estimated Costs:
- In-person fee: $1870.00 * (covers all lodging, food, materials, and transport during camp)

*Limited scholarships are available to Montana State University students. Information will be released on how to apply to all accepted applicants in early-mid March.
Prerequisities:
- Earth History (GEO 211)
- Mineralogy (GEO 302)
- Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology or Sedimentary Petrology (Both preferred!!)
- Sedimentation and Stratigraphy (GEO 309)
- Structural Geology (GEO 315)
- Field Methods (GEO 428)

Description:
A senior capstone course for the geology and paleontology options. Summer field course with application of field procedures and mapping techniques to a variety of geologic problems and exercises. For the in-person course, extensive hiking and outdoor physical challenges require that students be willing to push themselves physically. A fee for supplies, transportation, and other logistical expenses is required.
