Author and environmentalist, Bill McKibben joined Montana
State University Campus Climate Coalition students to discuss
"The Future of University Investing"

Bill McKibben is an American environmentalist, author, and journalist who has written extensively on the impact of global warming. His book The End of Nature (1989) is regarded as the first book for a general audience about climate change and has been translated in 24 different languages. He’s gone on to write many more books, and his work appears regularly in periodicals from the New Yorker to Rolling Stone. He serves as the Schumann Distinguished Scholar in Environmental Studies at Middlebury College, as a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and he has won the Gandhi Peace Prize. In addition, he holds honorary degrees from 19 colleges and universities. In 2014, he was awarded the Right Livelihood Award, sometimes called the alternative Nobel. Foreign Policy named him to its inaugural list of the world's 100 most important global thinkers. 2015 Extension Climate Science Conference

A three-day conference featuring presentations on climate science basics covering such questions as why does climate change; past climate data and current climate trends for Montana and the region; weather versus climate; and periodic fluctuations in climate versus global climate change. Sessions will also featured hearing from Montana stakeholders from Extension program areas (agriculture and natural resources, family and consumer sciences, community development, and youth development (4-H). and tools and resources for communicating climate science.
