    • Provost Martha Potvin called the meeting to order.
  • Approval of Minutes for November 5th, 2014
    • Provost Potvin moved to approve the minutes for November 5th, 2014. Minutes were approved unanimously.
  • New Items
    • MSU Affiliated Campuses International Travel Policy
      Leslie Taylor
      • The MSU Affiliated Campuses International Travel Policy was reposted as a new item due to substantial changes to the content. This is a policy for all campuses, but until it is passed, the Board of Regents' International Policy is in effect. Provost Potvin will send the policy out this month to the various list serves used by her office to allow faculty to comment. It will be posted for 30 days - to be voted on at the January 14th, 2015 meeting. Leslie Taylor thanked Pam Merrill for all of her hard work on this policy.
    • Student Code of Conduct - Proposed Changes

      • Using the national student code of conduct as a guide, MSU is making adjustments to its Student Code of Conduct. Bob Hawks offered a few punctuation edits, which Leslie Taylor acknowledged. The new policy will be posted for two months in order for students to have the opportunity to comment. It will be voted on at the February 4th, 2015 meeting.
  • Old Items
    • Faculty Staff Waivers
      Leslie Taylor, Legal Counsel
      • The Faculty Staff Waivers policy was posted for 30 days and recieved comments. Chris Fastnow moved to adopt the policy and Terry Leist seconded the motion. The policy was approved unanimously.
    • Employee Background Check
      Leslie Taylor, Legal Counsel
      • The Employee Background Check policy was revised to reflect that a background check will stay in effect for MSU employees for up to 24 months, as it was previously only valid for 18 months. Matt Caires moved to approve the policy and Tracy Ellig seconded the motion. The policy was approved unanimously.
  • Updates
    • Members of University Council provided brief updates about their departments.
